The approximately 38° Helix Angle pulls chips quickly and the Variable Index with Individual Helix of the teeth eliminates vibration from harmonics to allow deep fast cuts. The deep gashes on the end face are particularly deep and the Eccentric Relief allows for aggressive ramping of the end mills. For machining steel, AlTiN is a standard and capable coating. For improved performance and tool life in steel and tool steel we recommend FerroCon and for difficult to machine Stainless Steels we recommend InoxoCon.

They also have a 38° Helix and Variable Index like all our High- Performance End Mills. One critical feature of this end mill is the very thick core for added rigidity in tough materials. The end mills also have an Eccentric Relief with a Heal Grind. We recommend a lighter chip load with this geometry but this added rigidity from the thick core will allow you to run much faster than “regular” geometry 5 flute tools.
